Samsung Electronics is making a bold move into the AI-powered future, announcing plans to deploy an innovative artificial intelligence coding assistant called “Cline”— across its development teams starting next month.

So, Samsung revealed in an internal company notice that it has already begun beta testing “Cline” with employees in its Device eXperience (DX) division, which handles the company’s mobile phones, televisions, and home appliances. Cline isn’t your ordinary coding helper— Cline is like having a super-smart coding buddy. This open-source AI tool allows developers to write, edit, and test computer code using simple, everyday language commands. These high-level gatherings, held twice yearly in June and December, bring together heads of each business division to review regional challenges, assess business-specific issues, and map out goals and sales strategies for the coming year.
This year’s meetings promise to be particularly significant as Samsung navigates an increasingly complex global landscape. The agenda will include strategies for dealing with rising international uncertainties, including potential changes in trade policies, specially U.S. President Donald Trump’s second administration. Executives will also examine supply chain vulnerabilities and develop region-specific response plans.
Roh Tae-moon, who serves as acting head of the Device eXperience division, and Jun Young-hyun (head of the Device Solutions division), will lead these critical strategy sessions. The Device Solutions (DS) division, responsible for Samsung’s massive semiconductor business, plans to dive deep into sales strategies and explore ways to strengthen long-term competitiveness in the chip market
But following company tradition, Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong is not expected to participate in these meetings, leaving operational decisions to division heads.
